Essex Boatyards Ltd is a family-owned business with over 30 years' experience in boat sales and repairs. From the outset, we’ve been committed to the highest standards of customer service for the boating community. Quality, professionalism and value has made Essex Boatyards the UK’s number one boat sales centre, and a firm favourite with loyal customers throughout the country.
The company has grown steadily since its formation by Dave Barke Senior in 1976. James, Nick and Guy Barke joined the business in 1991, taking the company from a yard that sold just small 14 ft sports boats to a fully-equipped sales and service centre offering a massive choice up to 74 ft motor yachts. Dave Barke Junior has recently joined the company, completing the family team.

Essex Boatyards has been selling boats since 1976. From our new 12 acre Essex Marina site we are able to provide buyers and sellers with the best possible service, before and after a sale. We continue to invest in the latest handling and site equipment, including a 70t hoist, a 30t hoist and new 2.5t forklifts to improve efficiency, speed and turnaround even further.

Arvor
In 1999, we became the sole UK importer and distributor for Arvor fishing boats. The Arvor boats have since become the market leader for small fishing boats in the UK and were voted “Best Small Fishing Boat” by Sea Angler Magazine in 2002.

Fairline
We are now proud to announce that Essex Boatyards has been appointed an official Fairline dealer, trading under the name 'Fairline Essex'. We are now fully operational, offering sales and customer support for Essex, Kent, Thames Estuary and East Sussex as far as Eastbourne.
